About
I paint, design patterns, and teach — usually all in the same week, often with paint still under my nails.
Michelle Kathleen Creative Collective started as the name for whatever I made next — paintings, patterns, a class, a print — instead of a separate business for each one. I work from a home studio near Canton, Georgia, moving between original canvases and digital pieces built for print and licensing.
My background is in working with people's hands and attention — I'm also a licensed massage therapist and breathwork facilitator, and that same instinct for pacing and noticing shows up in how I paint. Most of my pieces are built slowly, in layers, over several sessions rather than one sitting.
Surface design is where the two sides of my practice meet: patterns developed on the page but meant to live somewhere else entirely — a bolt of fabric, a roll of wallpaper, a stack of stationery. I license and print-on-demand this work through a mix of my own shop and marketplace partners.
I also teach. Classes are small on purpose — usually six to ten people — and built for beginners who've never called themselves an artist yet.
